I am so excited for this weekend because I get to go visit the breeders who have touched my life forever. I cannot express in words the kindness that they have shown to me. When I purchased my first working line German Shepherd I thought I knew it all…Until I met the Rambo’s. Over the past few years they have taught me more than I thought I would ever know. Not just about German Shepherds, but more importantly about love and giving. I bought my first pup from them in Dec 2006. I was so excited and they helped me so much. More than you can imagine. I had worked so hard to save up for him. He was a wonderful dog and my best friend. Last year he had escaped from his kennel and was killed by a car. I was lost. When I told them they knew how devastated I was. I had lost my best friend. I had a huge empty space in my heart. I had no way to fill it, I had no means to afford another pup. The same night I sent the email and told them what had happened I got a phone call from Ron, and he offered to arrange to get me another puppy at no cost to me. All I had to do was go pick out which one I wanted. When I got my boy, Cam I felt like I had that piece of my heart back. Not that I don’t miss Car…I do. I think about him everyday. But the love that I get from Cam has helped me so much in the healing process. Because of them I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. They have giving me such a tremendous gift and I thank them everyday for that. Now there is good breeders out there, and then there is breeders that step beyond the dogs they breed, and touch someone’s life. That’s what I call great breeders, and more importantly great people. I cant wait to see them this weekend. I’m so excited.

Dont know what Cam was doing with his lip here...He is so goofy!

I am very happy for you in finding more than "just a breeder". It's not always easy. Enjoy Cam! A really beautiful dog.
Take care and God bless,
Joseph

I am happy to hear your story...you are a true lover of shepherds and the breeders are equally lovers of gsd's with a heart of gold. This was my feel good story of the week. Thanks for giving props to the breeders!!! Now lets have some more positive stories to share!!!

A long time back I lost my heart and soul in a house fire. Wizard almost NEVER was left behind except that one nite and it cost him his life. Months later my friend encouraged me to begin the search for a new dog... I grumbled I wasn't ready, and had no $$ anyhow.. but started looking thru the pages of the GSDCA Review. (American show lines). Though I'm in New England my favorite old GSD was from California... Ch. Rohan's Reaction ROM. Well as luck would have it I found a litter that was 4 months old in Az, with a picture of an available male who was SO handsome... I sent an email having no idea of costs at that time... got a video of this fellow and fell in love. But I knew it would be 3 months or more before I could save the $$ for him. With regret I emailed the breeder back. She called me that night and we talked for an hour... the conversation ended with her saying if I would pay the shipping she felt that this dog was meant to be with me. She shipped him to me, even paying the shipping (which I sent out immediatly to her) in her crate without so much as a deposit. And PEREGRINE VON HINDENBERG came into my life. He was the most lay back fellow you could imagine and very much the big ole teddy bear. Ingrid Koonce from Tuson Az was the breeder. It took me 6 months to pay him off, but as soon as I did she sent the papers to me. I showed him in AKC shows occasionally, and loved the hell outta him. He won over my current spouse who didn't like GSD's til she met him. RIP ole Mr. Bounce n' Trounce... you were loved and we still remember you! Peri passed away @ 12 of a heart attack...

I agree with Shepherdspal and the others. It is heartwarming to read such stories of the love between a dog and a human and more profound is the connections made between individuals in the quest to fulfill the canine aspect some of us require to maintain homeostasis. I have also had visceral experiences of love and losses over the years and like Kelly, I found a german couple who became more than friends, more than a "breeder"; they became mentors and at times, surrogate parental figures. They are no longer breeding or training, but they remain very close to my husband and me.

Yes I agree with Kelly j, The breeder of baby Heidi did just that with me when i lost her he said for me to pick a litter of my choice or wait until one came along that i would love a Puppy from and they kept there word.
I said a Pup from Como and Babsi a female and the first choice of the litter was mine Free, and the result is little Izzy, There are kind and genuine breeders out there if you are lucky to find them, Plus he can see and watch how she progresses and we have his expertise to help us when needed
