I played that and all my dogs started barking. I had to replay to see if Lassie barked or something,,, nope. Just that whistling and Jon Provost calling Lassie. Weird. Instantly quiet as soon as it stops.

As a child I watched Lassie,
And then the show changed, then I heard there was more than one Lassie, and that Lassie was a male.
One of many let downs of my childhood.
On a similar note,
I used to play a video called Never Cry Wolf for my Wolf Hybrid and she never let me down, I always got a long lonesome howl out of her.
It was great.

OMG, I relived my childhood a couple of years ago when I had insomnia. Lassie was the only thing on at 4 am

as a child, i was banned from watching lassie. i was always bawling when something sad happened.......and it always did. so my mom said, "no more lassie." i was also banned from black beauty, flicka, etc. i'm still a bawl baby.

Oh, I had the same issues. My mom had to sit with me to watch Lassie. She kept reminding me that is was a TV set and camera men were all around! Seemed so real to me, geez. Had to be carried out of the theatre during Bambi! Needless to say, I was not allowed to watch Ol Yeller.

Wasn't born before 1963 but LOVE Lassie! Used to collect stuffed Lassies and collies that had that trademark blaze, now no time or $$ but still love her :) Guess those were the good old days.
