Raw Bones - Page 1

Hi,
Can anyone tell me which raw Beef Bones is safe for my dog. He loves to chew and I wanted to get some bones for him. I'm just sure what bones to get..

The only bones I worry about are chicken, fish, small bones.

We had ribs last night, the dogs went orgasmic..lol

Although I have not tried it yet;  I am told beef rib bones are the softest and they can chew and swallow without problems;  we'll see. 

Cooked bones become brittle and can splinter into sharp shards and pierce the insides of your dog's digestive system.

The beef knuckle bones are great recreational chews.  You can get them from a butcher or meat processer(call ahead and ask for them) 
Any weight bearing bones will be too dense and should be taken away before they dry out and harden(risk of teeth breaking)  I feed my dogs a raw diet and they eat chicken w/ no problems. Marrow bones can give runny stools as the marrow is quite rich and if the dog isn't use to eating it, can cause puddin poo.
 I don't feed raw fish(they don't like it, and the bones make me leary as well)  Pork neck bones are soft.  I don't feed any smoked bones as they are brittle/ and splinter as if they were cooked. 
MY dogs favorite snack is a turkey neck-though you should give a bit of ground meat with it as the bone to meat ratio is high.  If you feed this it is really a complete meal, so skip the kibble at that time.
