Please can someone help me.
13 yrs ago in 1996 we bought a GSD from Mrs J. M. Hillyard in Highfield G,S,D.'S in Highfield, lower Dunton Rd, Horndon on the HIll, Essex. I am trying to find her because our beloved GSD has died and we want to buy from the same pedigree family.
His parents where SIRE Voundaun Silver Ladrido and mother DAM Rosedust Black Vanessa.
In memory of Romeo we want to pass on the love he gave to us.
Thank you

Hi

My family live in Horndon and know of no GSD breeder near the area so maybe they are not breeding now, I think I remember this breeder, had a huge black longcoat stud.  I'll ask on one of my other forums if anyone in that area knows if the line is still around.

I tried a Google search of the name Highfield and came up with a breeder of Cocker Spaniels in Yorkshire. Not what you were looking for.... after 13 years I suppose it's possible that your breeder has retired, and is no longer in the GSD business. You could try contacting the Kennel Club - they should have a list of active breeders.

Thank you for your assistance, I thought they might have stopped breeding as I can’t find then any more. They had a farm breeding white GSD and also guard dogs. Has any one heard of or know if Vondaun is still breeding or who might be breeding long-hair white GSD.

You will find Vondaun bloodlines in pedigrees of those that breed for coat/colour; you need to be extremely carefull who you purchase off do your homework especialy on carriers of specific genetic problems and there are a couple of breeders of this type that health screen, but not many.

Thank you all for your replies.
It is a shame I could'nt track down his breeder. We had a long coat beautiful white GSD.
It is a very painful time, yes I  will be very careful about ensuring that they are from a healthy family line. I will contact the kennel club.

Hi

You would be better off contacting the GSD Helpline, they have far more data on GSD problem bloodlines than the KC who simply do not care, however they posture.  The major source of epilepsy in English bloodlines could have been nipped in the bud if they had taken action as soon as it reared its ugly head.  If you contact Dorothy Cullum on
dorothy-cullum.uwclub.net
she will be able to research pedigrees for you.
