HAHAHA....we are such suckers to our dogs!! I had one here that was beeing borded because his owner couldn't do it.....and he went 7 days...he nearly beet me out..lol but on the 7th day he ate everything in his bowl and was looking for more...no problems after that..he did relaps back at home and she had to deal with it for a couple of days but he got the message, and now he is a very happy, normal weight dog. Soothers, when you feel yourself getting weak and start paging through your gourmet cookbook searching for something he's never had before and might like, log on to this board, Het and I will talk you through it. If your dog's like mine, at first he'll look pathetic as if he's ready to keel over from hunger. His eyes will roll up in his head, he'll pace and pant. On occasion Blitz has been known to fall down on the floor laying on his side acting too tired to move. One time I actually thought he was bloated LOL. It will break your heart into a thousand tiny pieces, but do not give in. Next comes the Son-of-Chuckie staredown (Blitz uses that to get his treats). Once he progresses to the staredown, (turn away and don't look at him, GSD's hate to be ignored) you're on on your way to victory lane and he will be eating in a day or 2. Good luck.......

Only on the database can one have access to The Het & Blitzen 12 Step Program for owners of finicky eaters. Can you tell me if at the end of the group meetings, do we all hold hands and say the serenity prayer?

by Blitzen on 03 September 2005 - 20:09

No, this isn't a religious intervention, but you could send a donation if you'd like. We'd like to hold a seminar in Bermuda early next year.

He's trying to wear you down, after all it's worked before, so why not try it again? The sad, pathetic look will be next, that may happen today yet when he see his bowl only contains dog food - it does, doesn't it? LOLOL

by soothersmaylive on 03 September 2005 - 23:09

Ooooo... I like Bermuda! Well..in about 1/2 hr. I'm going to offer him some more food! DOG food! (I almost broke and gave him satin balls tho! LOL) He has bypassed the sad looks and went right for the infamous flopping down on the floor and sighing (with a moan mixed in there)!

Blitzen, Your a nice girl. I see you have never been to an AA meeting lol.

by Blitzen on 05 September 2005 - 03:09
