siegershow this weekend in Germany, and a holiday weekend in the US. Search the board, there have been comments on the supplements in the past. By a member called Decoy something, I think DecoyD.

Prasac, In your post on Weight Problem, I told in detail about the founders of APRL and Peak Condition. These products have been used for over 2 decades with Outstanding Success. These products were originally used by owners of other breeds, more than GSD owners. The original founder of Peak Condition and former employee of APRL did Schutzhund with GSD's. I purchased this male from him. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/346392.html This Company K9Power supplies these products and say they have been in business for 7yrs. Its obvious from their home page, that they are deep into The GSD. These are the original products and once again have provided many competition canines with dramatic and positive results. www.k9power.com/

prasac: When this information was first posted a few weeks back, I sent for some for my 16 month male who is thin, and VERY picky eater. He is healthy, but growing very tall and active and I can't keep the weight on him. He has been on the supplements for 2 weeks now...the peak proformance and peak glo for skin and coat. I can tell you that I see a difference already! You used to be able to see his ribs...now you feel them, but not see them...and his coat is more glossy. He still has a way to go...I'd like him to gain more yet...but this has been the best I've tried so far. (and I've tried about EVERYTHING!) As I said, he is a very picky eater, and the 'downside' is, that this is a powder and makes the food very thick with a pasty texture. I can only use 1/2 the recommended dose or he won't eat it. I'm hoping once he's gained some, he'll be more willing to eat the full dose. But if he looks better already using 1/2...I'd have to say this stuff is definately worth a try.

Mix it with satin balls and he'll eat all you give him LOL. While I understand your concern about your dog's being underweight, I promise you he will not starve himself to death; no healthy dog will. If he were my dog, I'd put his food dish on the floor, let it there for no longer than 10 minutes and pick up what's left. No treats, absolutely nothing to eat at all til next feeding time. Sooner or later he will get the picture and magically your previously picky eater will dive into anything you put into his dish, honestly. I'll bet you mix up all sorts of combinations to tempt him to eat, right? Don't feel bad, all of us have done it at one time or another. After 35 years of dog ownership, I don't fall for the picky dog routine anymore LOL.

Blitzen: That is EXACTLY what I do!! He is so thin that I don't want him to miss a single meal! So I put everything in his dish to tempt him! I've tried every brand of quality kibble out there...I've used gravies, canned foods of ALL kinds INCLUDING that really horid smelling tripe! Eggs, mac& cheese...you name it! He will eat it for a day or so, but then turn up his nose! LOL I know I have created a monster, haven't I?!?

by Blitzen on 03 September 2005 - 04:09

See....what did I tell you, you've created a monster all right LOL. Just let him get good and hungry, he'll eat. He might go for 3, 4, 5 days, but he won't die. I'd be willing to bet he'll gain some weight too. Blitz occasionally goes on hunger strikes himself; it usually happens the day after he's had a rare treat of some delicious table scrap. After a few days of only water, he tears into his Royal Canin LOL.

OK! It's a test of wills and I'm gonna win! (5 DAYS??? OMG! I'll be a mess if he holds out for two! LOL!)
