I HAVE OWNED GERMAN SHEPHERDS FOR 35 YEARS AND I'AM LUCKY TO HAVE A PAKROS SON , ZAMP THERMODOS AND LARUS VON BATU GRANDAUGHTER AND A ICE VON STEINHAUERBERG DAUGHTER.  I ALSO HAVE A KEVIN Z JURANOVEJ DOLINY MAYANSER /PAYOU ADELRIK DAUGHTER , I MUST ADMIT IAM IMPRESSED WITH THIS CZ/DDR FEMALE HER ALLERTNESS AND LOYALTY AND BRAVERY AND SPEED IN PROTECTION MAKES ME WONDER IF THE SHOWRING IS TAKING OUT WHAT MOST OF ALL SHOULD BE KEPT IN. ?????

The Phylax Society wanted the GSD to be a foo foo show dog......Von Stephanitz wanted the GSD to be a working dog. Very early on the society was disbanded...........and a new club was formed to create a working dog with even temperament. First for herding, but fences went up and farming changed, the work of the dogs also changed from herding to guard/ protection. Max wanted working dogs that were pleasant, in which form followed function........
