A friend and fellow club member unexpectedly lost his best friend this past weekend.

John you had one of the toughest, hardest biting and high drive dogs I have ever seen!
(And Max lived in the house as a loving part of the family)
Rest in Peace Max!
You were a pleasure to be around.
You will be missed each and every week at training!
Look for John at the Rainbow Bridge. He will want you to show him around.

Sorry for your friends loss. He was fairly young, do you know cause of death?

The dog had a strange infection in several of his vertebrae. The specialty vets felt that after surgery, which needed to be done immediately, they could only, at the very best, get him to where he might be able to walk with his back legs again. Knowing this dog, he would surely have injured himself badly somewhere down the line.
It is very sad because this is a dog that got a 99 in protection in his one, but, lived a normal pet life at home. He was a true testament to what a GSD should be. Very, very sad and a tough loss for his owner who was readying him for his two in a couple of weeks. He would have passed with ease!

They say memories are golden.
Well, maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
A million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
No one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway,
And heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to heaven,
And bring you home again.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
I'm so sorry for you friend. that's so sad.
