We invite all people, which are interested in the real work of the german shepherd dogs, to our big event "SV Bundesleistungshüten", from september 25 till 27, the yearly championship of the german Shepherds and their dogs.
The event starts mid day on Friday, September 25, when the Shepherds will gather and draw for their trialing order and look over the course. In the afternoon, the first three or four Shepherds will start herding. Each run takes about an hour.
In the evening, there will be a meeting in the big tent, where everyone will have food, enjoy music, and talk.
On Saturday morning the herding will begin at 8:00 and continue until mid day, when there is a break for lunch. There will be excellent lamb cuisine, as well as other meal choices. The herding will then resume until evening. Then, there will be a big party in the tent. Prior to the eating, drinking, and dancing, some "important" people will speak to us, including the german SV Club President.
Sunday morning there will be a church service in the field in front of the big tent. A catholic priest will lead the services, joined by the youth music group from the village.
After church, herding will commence. Once again, there will be a lunch break , followed by the completion of herding runs. Between the final herding runs and the award ceremony, there will be some special events. The police will search for drugs, some young girls will "dance" with their dogs, and there will be obedience and Search and Rescue demonstrations.
Be sure to check out the German Shepherd Dog videos from videos from "Reivision", showing all 3 days in the big tent in the "bar corner".
Here are the informations about this event, which we will update from time to time:

One week after this event will be the "Bundessiegerprüfung" in Donaueschingen, about 1 hour driving from us to the south. Here are more informations:

So for visitors from foreign countries it will be an excellent opportunity to visit both events together.

While it would be great to watch a BLH in Germany you don't really have to miss out. The 1st HGH Club is holding its 13th annual HGH trials on Saturday, Oct. 3 in Rushville, NY under judge Manfred Voigt.
Here's the link to the trial flyer: www.schutzengelworkingdogclub.com/HGHTrialAnnouncement2009.pdf and this is a link to Ulf's White Clover Sheep Farm site: www.whitecloversheepfarm.com/sh-events.htm
If you have the opportunity to go, do! Watching GSDs participate in a HGH trial is absolutely stunning.
