is it true that dog shows are just EGO busters for rich people and breeders?
I'm sure that it is so for some people. But it is also true that there are many people who truly love and respect their breed, and are doing good work, and they go to shows to put up their dogs against others to see how they compare, both good and bad.
They may or may not be rich, but they are out there breeding dogs sound in mind and body, so I would have to disagree with the statement that dogs shows are "just" for the ego. For some, yes. Not for a lot of good people. The ones in it for the ego only will pass away, and even if they don't, people who REALLY know the breed will recognize them for what they are and will give much more respect to the hard-working breeders working for the true good of the breed.

I think its all about ego as somebody put it its 2 testicles on the leash in front of you. Yes the TOP DOG win s and everyone wants the top dog. Because at the end of the day you want the top dog blood to propogate in future genes not the underdog who is weak. There are people who love the underdog too but we can have show for them some other day.

No, not everyone wants the top dog. Sure, a lot will run to whatever wins, but I know there are breeders who look at what's out there and will every year pick what in their mind is the best to breed to for their lines, no matter if it didn't get the "Top Dog" prize.
"Because at the end of the day you want the top dog blood to propogate in future genes not the underdog who is weak."
Are you saying that every dog except the one awarded "Top Dog" is genetically weak? Or were you being sarcastic?
