I saw this picture in an ad (www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/85460.html) & LOVE IT!
I would just NEVER be able to get my puppies to not eat my son & my son has the scars to prove it!

For those who take their own pictures of their puppies how do you do it??
It's just me & my 6 yr old son....

I hope you have a digital camera.  If not, it would be worth investing in one.  I feel the secret to good pics is just taking lots & lots of shots.  Sooner or later you end up with a gem.  Watch your background when able and lighting is key.  With my camera, if it is too bright out I get crummy shots.  I do better in the early morning or late afternoon.  If I knew more about my camera I could probably adjust it for that.  If you still have your instruction booklet read it for hints and tips.  I know there are others on here who know how to really use a camera to it's best advantage.  Good luck!

I can tell you what works for me when taking pics of my animals. Not always because I do like candid pics as well but if I wanted them in a certain way......

I take them out and totally exercise them til they just want to lay there and let me snap their pics.......sometimes pups just have too much energy to want to sit still.

You just have to catch their attention and be fast about taking the picture. If you take to long they will lose intrest. Best pic I ever took  was getting 8 puppies to stand up on the side of the whelping box all at once.

One of the regular posters on this board recently displayed a picyure of one of her litters all lined up in a little red wagon....talk about cute! And GSDFan not only trains some excellent dogs, but she is a wonderful photographer, as well, but Melanie hasn't been on the board in quite a while. Yes digital cameras make a big difference, snap a ton of them & you'll find a couple of winners! jackie harris

Years of experience and lots of shooting ...use to use a regular camera and I bet I spent thousands of wasted dollars .Now the digital saves the day...but it is an art...

You have to act like a CLOWN.   Patience....  Patience   patience and Patience  Clown clown clown

LOL.. I'm rubbish at taking pictures, so if I need to get the dog to hold still long enough to get a half decent pic, I use a squeaky toy  to grab their attention just as I'm taking the pic.
