It is an auto-immune desease that occurs in older dogs (5-12yrs), its not dog to dog transmissible but it is suspected to be genetically inherited. It is very common in GSD`s as a breed.

Hi Robert. I'm just curious as to why you might think that? Do more than one of your dogs have the symptoms?
