well this was a poodle it happened too but anyway, this is from a facebook friend, who is also the person i bought my fluffy from, not her breeder but sold her to me. he's asking everybody to tell everybody so i am. he wants the neighbor to get in trouble and i think he is looking for advice on how that can be done. i don't know very much other than what is said in the vid.

A similar thing happened to my friend on Christmas Eve two years ago.  His boxer chased a feral cat onto the neighbors property.  He was cited for animal neglect (failing to maintain control).  The neighbor was cited with animal abuse.

That's a terrible story and how sad for the poor dog :(  While I don't condone this at all, why was he running loose to wander in the neighbor's yard when it sounds like there's a stray dog problem out there?  If it were me, I definitely wouldn't be letting my dog wander except in my own secure area to go potty if there are neighbors experiencing issues with "stray dogs".

I guess telling everybody is easier than dealing with the problem themselves.
Keep your dogs on your own property, shit happens.
If you wanna run a dog off with a shotgun fire up in the air first, then when its not so close as to penetrate bust em in the arse.
Second time give no warning, the dog will piss in your driveway no more.
And please use birdshot, that looked like a heavy turkey load in the video.
Then, be prepared to get arrested for wanton endangerment, or sued for damages,  depending on where you live.

Wouldn't it be so much better just to talk to your neighbor?
I must admit, sometimes no.

In the state of Florida you are allowed to shoot to kill, but not to shoot to harm/maim. If you shoot a dog with the intention of injuring it, not killing, you can be arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty. I know a gebtleman whoes naighbors bulldogs were attacking his pigs, he shot themk with bird shot, he got arrested. So make sure you know the laws for whichever state you are in.

Crap happens and dogs get out but still it's your responsibility to control your dog. The owners should have kept the dog home.
I feel bad for the dog. Whoever shot it is an ass. That was a heavy load and too far off to kill. Very cruel to the dog.

Rock salt is my ammo of choice
