Wynthea kennels?

Does anyone here know whatever happened to Wynthea kennels and Winifred Strickland? When I first got my German Shepherd "Expert Obedience Training" and "German Shepherd Today" really inspired me and I always wondered what happened to her kennel. Google seems to be void of any information.

I believe she is involved with the Monks of New Skete kennel. I still see her dogs listed at obed. trials. did you search thru the www.gsdca.org site?

I believe that if she is still alive, she would be in her 90's. She did have a daughter, I believe her name is Ellie Carson and she is involved with the GSDCA.

How'd you miss this on Google? It's the first thing listed when you Google "Winifred Strickland."

She also has a boarding kennel just outside Newark, DE on Rt 896 near the Penns. boarder.

Great lady, has all my respect. Motivated me as well. She was old school, did not use treats, just lots of praise and bonding and look at all the titles she had and some of the scores she and her dogs accomplished. She always stressed a balanced dog and a dog that had some aloofness, something that is not appreciated today.

And her dogs are still winning, 50 years or more since she won the nationals.

In the mid-atlantic area, the AKC trial winners are disproportionately of her breeding.

I don't think that she is breeding anymore, is she? She also inspired me as well.

Winnie is a member of a Breed club I belong to in Delaware, Diamond State GSDC. As far as I know she is still around but yes up in age. Does have a daughter in Del. also .
