Hi - a policeman friend of mine found a GSD with tattoo J3X184 in PA. Any ideas how to try to hunt down the owners? He is having the dog held at the police station rather than handing over to Animal Control at this time.

Thanks

Thank you to Linda and the policeman!!!!!
I would like to point out that if this dog had only had a mirochip,
we would not have been able to do this in record time!
AND "God only knows" how this dog would have ended up!
Due to our registered CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) tattoo series breeders
are asigned, I was able to ID the dog as one of mine, in spite of the last digit being
wrong.
I would hope you all continue to tattoo your dogs in spite of the SV's change to microchips.
Thanks again Linda!

Michele

Always good to hear of happy endings!  You should bake that policeman a cake!  Not many people would make the extra effort.  Too easy to just drop 'em off at the pound.

Yeahhhh! Gotta love a happy ending! I will always tattoo and m/chip, for just the reasons emphasized above, and when/if they come out with something better, that too!

So glad the dog gets to go home and in record time.
