Mum of Zoe

My boyfriend and I went on a two week vacation to DC, and we had the opportunity to watch the changing of the guard at Arlington Cemetary.  I took this video of it, and I apologize for a bit of the shakiness halfway through.  My arms were getting tired from trying to hold the camera so still!  Also, there are some airplanes flying overhead that make a bit of a racket.  I was in the back corner in the only spot of shade available, lol.

I went back in 85 and was in tears the whole time.......tears of gratitude, respect and sorrow. The Wall was especially moving........The trip changed my life.

The freedom that we enjoy is very, very expensive

Thanks for sharing, nice pictures, bringing fond memories.  I was in Caisson Plt. as supplyclerk & leatherman, making and repairing the horse tack.  I know exactly the dedication and precision required to perform their tasks.

Do you folks know the history of Arlington? How our kind and generous reconstruction govt. stole it from it's original owner? And now it is a grave yard for those who died in battle! Futher desecrated by the burial of those who have not died in battle! to bury those who have not died in defending their country is desecration! Arlington has lost it's true meaning now and become a curiosity and tourist attraction!~

Yes Raymond,
I know the history.
Yes I have been there, the graves do not tell the true story, so many more have died who didn't make it into Arlington.
Too many have died in battle.

Raymond?
Why do you try so hard to make people dislike you?
You are not being true to your self.

Why?
What is it that has turned you into what you seem to be?

You should take some time off and think things over.

Today I wish you the best,
Moons.

It was stated in 1998, that there were only enough plots to accomodate another 20 years of burials.  We've been in war ever since, so I wonder if that estimate has accellerated.  The only resolution I could imagine, is by severing off parts of the Army or Marine bases adjacent to it.  I'd rather be buried with my dog in the Rocky Mountains.  Give me a viking funeral off a mountain lakeside.

I have taken time to contemplate all of lifes mystries!  Teddy has a right to be buried in arlington . A right legislated by law makers to elevate thier status!  any veteran who has served in elected office qualifies for burial! that I will concede! A very wise man once said that knowing the truth will set you free! free from what? The truth about Arlington is that is was intended to be a place of burial for Americas war dead! This is truth" anything that is nobel and decent  will be corrupted by man! A piece of property once owned by Robert E Lee was confiscated from him and his family by a corrupt administration! Corrupt because he was not afforded due process! But being the gracious man he was he suffered this humiliation! Two Moons sometimes I have been unduely harsh on you! I beg your forgiveness!!
