Haven't you ever seen a fur seal harvest,
Or visited a slaughter house. It's economics.
The methods that shock you are considered cost effective.
Their way of dealing with what they consider to be a problem, the pictures seemed carefully selected.
Sad yes, no doubt.
I saw the hook inside the bait, but I bit anyway.

Disgusting, but not unusual or unheard of. We here in America may find this horrific, but in India I'm sure it's not nearly so shocking.
In some countries, little value is placed on human life, and when human life is not valued, then why should any more value be placed on the life of a mere animal?
Kids here beat animals, and think it's funny, sports stars fight dogs for the money, and cockfighting is big business in some neighborhoods. Aside from the conditions of slaughterhouses, the wholesale killing of animals merely for pleasure is widespread, depending on culture.
I find it troubling, for sure. But not any worse than the guy who left the dogs locked in their kennels to starve to death, while he billed the owners for boarding, or some of the other horrible things I've read about and seen.
The people who did this will one day face their fate, whether they believe in God or not, and when they do, no one will be able to take that burden from them. I would not wish to join them.

incidentally this happened after a pack of street dogs apparently killed a small child in a nearby field. As a part of retribution the whole city culled around thousands of dogs in few days
