This subject came up in another thread. I had no idea  the condition could be treated and corrected by hormone therapy injections. What are the pros and cons of this treatment?   I was under the impression there was no medical treatment for this condition.  Most vets recommend surgical castration.  I read an interesting article by Fred Lanting, who suggests the incidence of testicular cancer in dogs with retained testicles is only slightly higher than the rate in dogs where both testicles have descended normally.

I have never heard of that treatment either. Good option for those who want to let their male mature with more masculinity prior to neutering, but leaves the door wide open for the many shady people out there.
