I'm looking for some more opinions please....this time on protection training lines.  What lengths do you guys use?  I think I'm trying to decide between 15 and 20 feet.
Thanks

Personally I like 15ft, but then I'm a natural born klutz.  For agitation lines I like nylon from these guys:  www.fullgripgear.com/nylonleads.html

I like a 15 ft line..  the longer lines have their place but the longer they are the eaiser it is to get tangled

I also like a 15 ft line, but I carry a 30' as well.  It all depends on what I'm doing.

I have found that I like the soft nylon lines, I don't like the gripper with the rubber.  That rubber line really burns my hands.  We sometimes do "covert clears" with the dogs to clear buildings one room at a time.  We will do this with an entry team and even "post" the dog at intersections in hallways.  The team clears behind the dog the rooms the dog has already entered and the dog watches a paticular hall or room.  I have really burned my hands up feeding a rubberized long line to my dog doing this.

For blind searches I'll use a 30' line, for regular agitation a 15 ' works great.  I have both, you never know what you'll need.  I can get tangled in either one equally well. :)
