Story at link.  The comments from readers are a bit disturbing, with some calling for a ban on dogs because they are "dangerous".

Two Moons

I would want to know so much more,
Like a look at the animals feces, the content of their stomachs.    The son didn't seem very distraught.
Thorough investigation by authorities will probably fall short of the mark.
It's more than possible but where are the facts, typical news story.
They looked like curs from an inbred litter and would surely be considered a pack with all the wild instinct that would come from such a group, but I am not convinced solely on the merits of this story.
The comparison to wolves is idiotic.
Lets see if someone wants to save them and find them forever homes.
I don't see any fine line here at all, only the smell of something strange.

This type of news just pisses me off!

The intent is to make the general public afraid of dogs. And the general public is so gullible that it works.

"a trimph that more people are not bitten"........hogwash!

"The intent is to make the general public afraid of dogs."

Or, is the intent to make the general public insist on laws that limit dog owners to one, or at the most, two dogs, regardless of whether they responsibly confine their pets or whether they allow the animals to pack up and to threaten other people?

I believe the intent is to sell soap, or whatever they are selling today.
There is no great conspiracy here, only a flashy story, but first a brief commercial.

The news media died a while back and no real news can be found, just bits of shiny material to attract the Crows.
What happened to the who when why and where, evidence, facts, the real story.
We are in the dark now, watch what you believe.

Not saying this didn't happen, only sad that we may never really know.

Sorry,
I didn't see your post sooner, a little more info yes.
But I still have no respect for the news media, or the so called experts opinions.
Honestly around here we shoot feral dogs and hunt down wild running packs.
I've had this problem before with livestock being attacked by dogs.
Its tragic that these were humans.
This is why I do not believe in shelters.
Anyway its time to go..
Too much database makes Jack a dull boy.

What the Hell is wrong with you people ??   Two elderly people were killed by a pack of dogs and the only things you say is that it is "fishy" "making people afraid of dogs" "flashy news story"  etc.   For God's sake -- get a damn GRIP on yourselves and have some sympathy for the husband and wife that died.

Good people die everyday.

I have to wonder, like Moons, of the rest of the story.  Seems to me that the dogs would have been threatening, before the attack, and from what I read on another article a few days ago, the lady may have been looking for one of her own dogs that had been missing.

It's tragic that this couple died, there's no dispute about this.  But I have to wonder how and why two intelligent adults would wander into the middle of a pack of dogs that would kill them.

Something odd here, for sure, but I think that it's a bit strange that the local animal control didn't do something about the pack of dogs, and that no one else did either.  I'd have to say, if a pack of feral dogs took up residence near my home, they'd be dead before the day was out.  I love dogs, but I won't take a chance on the safety of myself, my children, my animals, or my neighbors.

That's my feeling, even though I love dogs very much.
