Hi, well friend of mine imported Zamp daughter (Pinta Ragina Pacis) matted with VA2 Quenn and before shipping seller get her ultrasound done and that was showing around 8 to 10 puppies, she was showing all signs of pregnancy, after her due date  ultrasound was repeated and surprisengly her uterus was completely empty. When he contacted her seller in germany, you believe he said this is a case of abortion and shephered use to dissolve puppies in utero. how could be. Unfortunately this is second time when he had faced this type of problem cos in begening of this year he imported female from Peter Rikker (samara furstenperle) he she didnt delivered, same story her ultrasound was also perfomed before shipping

I believe that puppies can be reabsorbed during the early stages of pregnancy, and I think this might be more likely in the case of stress due to shipping, so females are usually shipped during the second month of pregnancy to avoid this problem. I think that later in pregnancy there would be abortion with obvious vaginal secretion and delivery of the fetuses.. I am sure some others here know more...

One of my bitches was confirmed in whelp and was showing signs that she was carrying a good size litter, however she went of her food at 5 1/2 weeks and started losing weight.  A subsequent scan failed to find any pups and my Vet suggested that she had reabsorbed as there was no discharge. She is very laid back so we didn't suspect stress although she may have been dominated by my other bitch so after a second mating they were seperated and she went full term and delivered 10 healthy puppies,
