I found this puppy last night and am taking him to the vet in the morning. He was covered in ticks and scabby skin, he has a big knot on his head, and is extremely malnourished. I have no idea how old he is. I already have 3 of my own dogs and will not be able to keep him. If you are interested in adopting this poor little guy let me know!

For some reason none of these photos show that he has a tail. Here's one that does.

Make sure you find out who is going to get him, do a vet check and home check and have them fill out an application to make sure he goes to the right home. Go to my website if you want and download the application there...use it if you want.
Let us know also where you are located...contact your local GSD Rescue Group to properly place this puppy. PLEASE!!!
I can help but we need more information.
Thanks, Steph

I'm located in Orange County, CA. I am taking him to the vet first thing tomorrow morning to find out all that is wrong with him. And I don't want anything for him, just for him to go to a good home.

You have two excellent rescues near you - German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County and Coastal -

I urge you to contact them ASAP...... and thank you for taking in this baby.

WOW poor little guy...he looks kinda wormy and those pasterns are painful to look at.  So kind of you to take him in, I home he finds a loving home that deserves him more than his last one did.

Looks like he should be a moose if he can get some good nutrition going. Those pasterns do need some help. I need another dog like (another) hole in my head, so luckily I'm too far away to be tempted. Hope he goes to his forever home soon. Looks like he could become a really beautiful dog.

Thanks guys.

I've already contacted both of those rescues and am waiting to hear back from them. I leave in about 45 minutes for his vet appointment.

I'll keep you guys posted on what the vet says about him (:

Sadly, I have to report that the puppy had to be euthanized today. They did a scan of his head, and discovered that the lump on it was caused by an untreatable brain deformity.

I assume his former owner could see that something was wrong with his puppy, and dumped it (because you don't normally find purebred GSD's just roaming the street).

Hopefully I made Monster's last day a happy one.

Funny how attached you can get to a puppy in just 24 hours.
