How long should we excpect our female to be discharging blood etc... , after having her first litter?she delivered on the 13th.?

She may have a retained placenta or worse yet, a retained pup. Vet visit ASAP.

You will find reference on reproduction and reproductive disorders in dogs and cats. It may has the answer for you, on vaginal discharge etc.  good luck..keep us posted

Bitches can discharge for 6-8 weeks after having puppies.. it will be heavy to start and often clottish and will gradually lessen.......there can be some greenish darkish in it too...
As long as she is not running a fever or showing signs of sickness or pus in her discharge, it is normal

There are a number of really good references that would be helpful to keep handy .. I still have my original form 20 years ago...

Dr Robert van Hutchinson from Northview Animal Clinic in Ohio has 2 DVD's that are a MUST HAVE for anyone who attempts to breed dogs..... 

She should have seen the vet within 24 hours of whelping.......Even after all these years of doing this,  I still bring momma in (without her babies) to be looked over and checked out real quick.....
