RICHARD AND KRIS

by RICHARD AND KRIS on 14 August 2009 - 07:08

Just to update everyone on the new puppy's! They are all wonderfully fine. We ended up with 6 males and two females. There are 4.5 sables and 3.5 black.lol.Actually the .5 .5 is gourgous. He really has me thinking of wanting another ,BUT as most of you know that is the puppy talking. My male is already so JEALOUS of our female that it would break his heart if his dad introduced another baby into the family. He thinks that he is still the one and only baby.lol My wifes female is a proud momma except she is learning how not to step on them. Its amazing watching them grow and change colors just over nite.pics r available , i just dont know how to upload them onto the site. Thanks again everyone.

When you see no more bulges, feel no more movement , you administer the proper dosage of Ocytocin , given by your vet, usually after 3 hours of no activity and most probably no more pups and if any such pup still in the canal , it will move on out...

The rest is clean out and will enable female to evacuate all the nasty left over and start healing faster.

Ok, I can't help you with your question but I must advise you...pictures are a must on this board.  We crave puppy breath so once things have quieted down we will expect you to brag with pics!  Congrats on your litter and good luck.

I rarely use ocytocin, unless she was still pushing and nobody came out......

you can take her outside and let her move around, play ball, or just keep walking around, for at least 5 minutes, that always helps to make sure she has nothing left behind,  if the vets office is closed,  you can still administer the ocytocin the next day, if you feel she really needs it, just describ to the vet how she is acting, if my girls are calm & relaxed and laying down with the pups nursing, I skip the shot.....and like YR said, there is some nasty stuff that will be cleared out

Make sure she has an appetite, that means she's feeling well, most dogs are very hungry and real thirsty after having all those kids!
Leave water out for her round the clock.

Good Luck to you and your girl, that is a big bunch of pups!

The white on the chest is common and if it is just a few hairs those will probably go away with time.  If it is a large white spot that is pretty normal too.  White on the chest happens some times.

My Jena had a bunch of white toes and a good-sized white patch on her chest when I got her at 8 weeks. She was a gift and I was not complaining, BUT I also did ask around lol. Most of the white did go away, though she has 2 white toes in the back still. Also had 2 pups come out with tiny white spots on the chest and all white back feet. The white on the chest was gone by 8 weeks and the white on the toes is almost all gone.
Best of luck with Mom and babies. Looking forward to seeing the little ones as they grow up to be little terrors :)

mine of 12, all but 3 have white spots of different sizes and places this is a repeat breeding, have watched all of the other pups no white left on any of them.Sire and damn no white spots on either . So I believe with how often this question  comes up that it is more normal then is told.

this reminds me of my ex's rott mix dog, he was named tippy, for the white tip on his tail. now he has been an adult for a few years, and everybody asks how he got the name tippy.....there is no white on his tail now or anywhere at all.
