Could anyone give some comments about Techni-Cal dog food produced in Germany?

Thanks

Another re-badged Royal Canin product that uses marketing to sell food rather than putting the money into quality, bio-appropriate ingredients. Royal Canin has over 50 foods on the market under its own label, each targeted at a specific breed or condition, but have very little difference in their ingredients. Perhaps they should cut their printing costs by producing fewer varieties of foods and instead, start to realize that they need to reduce the filler in their food and include more appropriate ingredients. If you go here, you can get a better idea of what I am talking about:

Click on whichever variety you want and read the review all the way to the bottom. Most of these foods rate a 2 or 3 out of 6.

I carry Orijen at our boarding facility and have had a great deal of positive response regarding this food, and no, I do not mean that people come back and say "my dog likes to eat it", LOL. I see a changes in the dogs muscle tone, eyes clearing up, ear infections disappearing and not reocccuring, hot spots drying up. This food is Canadian (yay) but recently won an award from an institution in Washington due to its low glycemic index. The company is family run and it is processed using fresh-daily ingredients with their own equipment (not like all of the brands under Menu Foods). The company representatives actually answer your questions and do not baffle you with B.S. like the majority of food companies.

I might make higher profits if I sold Royal Canin, Nutro, Pro Plan etc., but I would be essentially undermining my own business, because, in my business, if the dogs live longer, I make more money. Clients will bring their dogs to me for more boarding, grooming, training as long as they live long, healthy lives. By selling Orijen, I am extending out my opportunity to cash in and making my clients happy by providing them with a healthy dog. I have seen it over and over again. I have yet to have a client change to the food and come back with a problem other than bulking up (usually due to over-feeding or pre-existing thyroid condition).

SOMETHING ELSE TO NOTE... and this is very important. As a trainer of dogs who deals with both group and private clients, I see the worst of the worst. I get the dogs that are kicked out of class or that other trainers give up on. The first thing I instruct the client to do is change the diet to grain free. You would be absolutely amazed at the results. Many of the dogs calm down, begin to focus and tend to maintain focus longer. I have literally had dogs that have been presented to me with dog and some human aggression cases change their diets and return 2 weeks to a month later and show absolutely no signs of the issues previously shown. This is not a coincidence this is a pattern I am seeing in multiple breeds.

So, how did I come to this realization? My vet tried to put me on this food (Techni-Cal) when my dogs constant ear infections would not subside. He tried to put my dogs on many vet foods. It was not until a "crazy" lady approached me and told me to feed a raw diet that I started to get some answers. That was 9 years ago and I have not been to a vet for an ear infection, hot spot or other ailment since. I do feed Orijen occasionally as there is sometimes damaged bags during shipping, and I find that the dogs switch from raw to Orijen with little issue.

I know that this post will bring all kinds of people out of the trenches saying "Well, my food is excellent too", and if it works fine for you, do not change it. I have over 3,500 clients that visit my establishment at some time or another, and have cared for their 5,000+ dogs in some way or another over

(cont'd) the past 5 years and I have to say that I have not seen anything have as much positive impact as diet, specifically a meat-based, low glycemic index (carb), high-protein diet. Now if you want the full benefit of this diet to be completely available to your dog, I would recommend "Feed-Sentials", a whole food supplement created in Brooklin, Ontario, Canada, made by a GSD breeder. Go to www.carmspack.com and click on the Feedsentials link for more information. Totally amazing product, I can't begin to explain what I have seen it do.

Just my simple opinions based on experience:)
