My bitch was supposed to flag last Thursday but did not till Friday. She was breed that Friday. Brought back again today and let the male mount once but no tie. Every time after she turns and fights him off. What is the reason she may be doing this? Never had this happen before. Also, what can I do to help get them to tie. I never but a muzzle on her before so would this be a good idea or not.

I recounted the days and today would be day 14. Do you think she is done ovulating and this is why the behavior is there? I might have missed the oppurtunity by misscounting. Thanks for any input you may have.

If the bitch is pulling her tail then it could be a number of things. It could be that she's not swollen enough. Some dogs don't get very sowllen when they come into season. Could be the female is shorter then the male and that be a problem. It might help putting your knee under the female and try to raise her back end up a bit.  I would suggest do fresh exchange A.I's. The dogs don't have to tie to be bred. Is this the first time your breeding her?

Without doing a "progesterone" test.......everything else is guess work....

She may not be ready till day 17. Each dog is different. Is her discharge a dark red or light almost watermelon red?

She had an accidental breeding over a year ago with one tie. With my male. He broke out a window in my house by jumping through it and then knocked the kennel door of the hinges. I saw them tied when I got home from work. This was a planned breeding. Jessie james, she does not have any disharge at all at this time. She did have a tie with the stud on Friday. Do you think she knows she has already concieved and this is why she will not take again?

sounds to me she may be going out.
she may be pregant and does not need to tie anymore.

at least you get a tie my female wont breed to my male,
she is dominate over him,

it only takes one time.

good luck

Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. Just updating her status for further information. She has very little dishcharge and the color is clear. Just trying to figure her cycle out by the help of others.
