Overseas breeding; truth or fiction,

I have heard many different opinions about female aborting the litter from stress by shipping the female overseas.

What is the safe period for female to be shipped after they are bred?

I wouldn't ship at the end of the pregnancy. From experience, had a bitch one week from whelping that the owner INSISTED we ship back to him immediately and she did in fact abort the litter. (Was not a GSD)

I don't honestly know the best time, but wouldn't recommend the end. Hope this helps a little

We usually wait till they are 3-4wks into pregnancy.  They usually tolerate the flight back better.

It's better to wait at least 3 weeks after breeding to ship . So far females shipped after this timeperiod had litters . Recently a female shipped shortly after breeding  came up empty . She first appeared pregnant  . Ultrasound  but not conclusive  showed  evidence of a perhaps reabsorbed pup. I would be nervous shipping  on the end of pregnancy !

Thank you for your opinions, I also heard from others the best time to ship the female after breeding is two to three weeks. I was wondering if there would be any implications shipping the female a couple of days after breeding.

I would never do it.......within the first 2 weeks of conception, highest chance of re-absortion.
