Ok Raymond, here are some of my favorites and I have every one on my bookshelf:

Tracking:
Books: "Tracking Dog" by Glen Johnson, "Tracking: from the beginning" by Gary Patterson.  I have others on SAR and Police style tracking but I will limit this to dog sport.

Videos:  Joanne Plumb's videos on tracking are excellent.  Dildei's video is good, but I really benefited from Joanne Plumb's video on tracking.

Obedience:
Books:  Sheila Booth's books are excellent especially for SchH style OB.  "Schutzhund Obedience training in Drive" by Sheila Booth and Godfried Dilddei is great.  "Purely Positive Training" By Sheila Booth is excellent for all around OB and not just SchH an excellent resource.
Ivan's book "Advanced Schutzhund" is also great.  "Training the competitive working dog" by Tom Rose and Gary Patterson a little old now but still good.

Karen Pryor books for obedience especially "Don't shoot the Dog" by Karen Pryor.  That book is awesome.  I have several other clicker training books and they are great.

Obedience videos:  "Building drive and focus w/ Bernhard Flinks"  Even if Bernhard doesn't like it I really do. ; )  I don't have Ivan's videos yet, but I will get them in the future.

Schutzhund books:

My first SchH book: " SCHUTZHUND THEORY & TRAINING METHODS"  by Susan Barwig & Stewart Hilliard.  Great book to get started.

"DER SCHUTZHUND - THE PROTECTION DOG" by Helmut Raiser, trans. by Armin Winkler.  Still and excellent book with many ideas that are still current.

Those are some of my favorites as I think of more I'll add them.

Oh yea, a Schutzhund rule book from USA or WDA is also a very important thing to read if you plan on doing a BH or trialing a dog in SchH.  It really helps to know the rules before you enter.

Hope that helps,

Jim

Many good books written over the years, so I will just list a few that mean a lot to me as they were very influencial in motivating me.  I am not saying these are the best training books, they just mean something special to me.  Wynn Strickland "The German Shepherd Today",  Koelers method of Guard dog training, and of course Max V. Stephonitz  " The German Shepherd"
Though many books have been written since those above, and are more detailed and precise in every area of training, these books were the only ones around for the most part, and they started me on that path of always searching for what is best.  They stimulated that hunger for more.
