Just wondering if anyone has tried NUPRO JOINT SUPPORT, or their viamin supplement.  Thanks!

Tried it, but didn't really see much improvement.  The best joint supplement I've tried is called Synflex.  We ended up calling it my shepherd's "Happy Juice" because she could move and play so much better while being on it.

I haven't used that before, but I can tell you what I have used and has worked wonders for my 11 1/2 year old GSD. Sea mussel, it has worked wonders on her and it is also used for humans too. I get it at www.vitacost.com She gets the sea mussel plus. It has really helped her out!!! If you use the link just type in the search box sea mussel. I grind it up into powder and sprinkle it into her food. I've told other pet owner's about this and they have had nothing but good results with their pets while on sea mussel.

Kelly,

How long have you been using this stuff?  Can you tell us how much improvement it generated for your dog?  I see that they have tablets and capsules available.  You recommend grinding up the tablets?  Are the capsules the type that you can open up and get to the stuff or is it more of a gel-cap?

I have used the Joint Support with some older dogs that were having some trouble with age related joint issues and it did seem to help. I have also used the Nupro Joint Support with a younger female GSD that I took in 4 years ago that has an injured hind leg and limps while walking because of it. It has also helped her.
I have also used the regular Nupro supplement when the joint support wasn't available and my dogs all did well on it, but, I also use high quality food so I don't think that it has as much of an effect as it might for some.
I have also recommended it to friends with older dogs and they seemed pleased, as well.

As with any supplement, I think that the benefits derived will vary according to the overall health of the dog and the quality of food it is getting.
If they eat crappy food the supplement will help more. If they are on a high quality food it won't help as much.

Definition of Supplement = something added to complete a thing, supply a deficiency, or reinforce or extend a whole.

Kelly and Momo thanks for sharing the info on the other products!!!

I have been using Nupro for around 4 years and only have 1 who doesn't care for it. I also use their electrolye formula for when it's hot or they're working hard.

I mix it in with the puppy gruel starting at 3-4 weeks and they have been on it ever since. Coats are nice and shiny, eyes bright, no allergies. My mom has an old cat that has nerver damage in his back and their vet was having them give him something that was still fairly new.. metacam... and after putting Tony on the joint support( yes for dogs) after about 3 weeks they cut his meds back by more then half and only half as often. Tony still has good days and bad days.. I think he's almost 15 years old now and that is to be expected, but he is much more active and happy.

We buy it in the 20lb tub and it lasts about 2 months, but there are 6 dogs here

Hope this helps.

Interestingly enough, after I made the thread looking for supplements to aid conception, someone emailed me abut this product, stating that it really worked for them and their breeder. Curious, I checked out the ingredients, the main one being kelp, which I have been reading boosts fertility in breeding dogs. I am considering trying it on two of my dogs, one of which has dysplasia.

i have heard that  nu vet has a great joint supp.

I can honestly say Nupro improves your dog's coats and helps with allergies. The product is ALL natural and was formulated by a vet. I have a small dog related business and we sell Nupro and the people who use it tell us how much their dogs coats have improved. It is great with hot spots too.  I have been using it for about 4 years and love it.
My dog's coats were dull and brittle and after using it for about 3 weeks the improvement was hard to believe.

The main reason I decided to use it was that all the ingredients were natural - nothing in it that I couldn't spell or pronounce. Check it out and see the ingredients for yourself. I think your dog will love the taste too. The can says to use one scoop, but I only use about 1 teas per feeding.

We use Dasuquin for the arthritis related supplement.  It has worked well.  We also us the regular Nupro.  Coats turned very shiny and red color really deepened.  Mine all like it and seem to have good energy as well as a coat with sheen.
