It is with great sadness that I have to report that 'Teddy' our dwarf GSD had to be given sleep yesterday 1st August at the age of 13 years 11months. He was only given six months to live originally, as he had a major heart defect deemed inoperable, so he has surprised everybody by living so long. He had his problems, mostly skin related and loss of hair, but we had decided to give him a chance, and he has repaid us greatly. His character was amazing, feisty at times, but that was 'Teddy'. He has lived the last 18 months of his life with our German Import 'Janos vom Nordkristall', both living in the house with us (Teddy has lived all his life in the house) and they became great friends, so Janos is going to miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss.  That must be a record for a dwarf to live to almost 14.  Kudos to you for giving him such good care.  I am quite sure that your devotion to him had a big part in his long life.

Aw Ann, I am so, so very sorry to hear you have lost 'Teddy'  I didn't know him but had heard alot about him.  I commend you for giving that wonderful dog such a fabulous and long life.  Not everyone would have, so be proud of yourself and enjoy the memories you will always have.  He lived to a great age and that in itself is testament to the love and care he received from you and your family.

Our thoughts are with you.

So sorry Ann to hear about Teddy - but what an amazing achievement to have had him live for so long. The love you and Janos gave him was a powerful incentive for that little guy to keep going...... if you are able to post a picture of him I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I'd love to see him.

RIP Teddy, running free at the Bridge.

I am so very sorry for your loss :-(    That is the hardest decision that I think any of us have to make in life. You should be proud that you gave him a wonderful life for so very long. My thoughts and sympathy are with you.
