Recieved a call last night from a directory assistance co. saying someone requested their help to contact me. However we were disconnected.
Later last night I recieved an email from
brens101@yahoo.com stating

"Im highly interested in buying your puppy and I want you to get back to me with the details and price, Moreso you can attach the pics if available, Looking forward to your swift response soon.

Regards,
Bryan Sue

Feeling uneasy about this I emailed them back and requested they call me, So I could speak to them personally. This morning I recieved another email from Bryan Sue, stating they definitely wanted the puppy.
This is their message..
"You will be recieving an overdraft check, which will cover the money for the pickup (pickup and shipping to the final destination) as well as the money to be paid to the company that will take care of the pickup and the documentation with you so please as soon as you recieve the check payment, go and cash it immediately, deduct the money that accures to you, and send the balance to the head office of the company that handles the shipment via Western Union... The check will be in your name to make it easier for you to recieve payment, please reconfirm your details one more time....I will give you the details of the company that will be shipping  the puppy as soon as we seal this deal.  Once the money is recieved by the agent, the shipping agent will contact you immediately to arrange the documentation as well as the pick up immediately so in view of the above, here are some details I will need for final issuance of the certified check to you.
Full name, mailing address (No P.O. box), home and cell numbers, acceptence of my offer, and the final asking price.  Bryan Sue.

I did have an add for puppies, but never spoke to this Bryan Sue before.. Didn't even quote a price for puppies. This is crazy.
Anyone else ever experience something like this. I never advertised any of my litters before this is a first time. Thinking about reporting it to local authorities... What ya think?

The way their messge is on here is exactly as it was sent to me.. Its no typing errors on my part..

I'm not familiar with them doing this with dogs, but this is the typical scam...we're going to send you a check for more than you need and you cash it and give the difference to some 3rd party.  Meanwhile the check, although real, bounces because the account or bank is bogus.  You're out the cash and get stuck with the overdraft charge and the pup would be gone.  My cousin almost fell for it when she received an unsolicited check in the mail.  She took it to the bank and they checked on it...yup bogus.  Good catch!

Report it.

I'll see if I can find the current scam, but it reminds me of one I just read about whereby the purchaser gives a bone fide cheque, but one that rips off a third party from a legitimate bank account, and then the second cheque never comes or is bogus.  They get the information on the legitmate chequing account from other sources, if I recall correctly

It just makes me sick to see that some people will stoop that low as to involve innocent puppies. Just suppose someone would fall for this and it goes all the way to the point that someone picks up the puppy..Where does the poor puppy end up...CRAZY CRAZY!!

I can't see anyone actually falling for this scam, nonacona...

I've seen it over and over again, and it's fraud, pure and simple.  Just delete their message, or report them, and wash your hands of it.

Anything for sale is fair game to these suckers...

I keep getting spam messages telling me to contact Fedex in some foreign country and verify my information to guarantee receipt of a package containing XX amount of money.  I just delete them, although I did send a message asking once if they'd email their phone number and business information so I could check them out...They haven't responded.

it is the current scam. I went thru it last week. The Nigerian,s have taken up residence in England. They loved a Jabina's Falco son I have here, will send a check. The check arrived with nothing else in the envelope. It was for 2,000.00 more than the asking price. The next day the phone started ringing resticted # on caller ID. The person spoke broken English. He requested that we deposit the check and send back the difference western union. We told him thanks but no thanks and turned it over to the states A.G.
Do not deposit any checks of this nature!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shades of the old Nigerian money scam. The sentence structure and syntax is interesting.

Just talked to my bro-in-law who is a Major with the Parish Sheriff's Office here.. He said they have gotten several reports similar to mine. There was one other involving a GSD breeder here locally earlier this year. Wants me to keep copies of all emails and try to play along with them to see if I can get something concrete that will lead to the source.. I will also be forwarding all emails to Sheriff's department and hopefully we can get to nab them.  If not hopefully put a scare into they may stop all the foolishness.
