I've been looking at alot of breeders in the US in the past week. Fleischerheim/Merkel have some good bloodlines, but are the dogs on site really all that! The prices are comparable to some of the other West German Showline breeders. I know you guys know who's got what. Looking for an edge in the market. I lost my big dog about 5mths ago. I haven't looked for a pup in 5 years so I'm really out of the loop!

he will be one of the more pricey breeders.  you can find the same quality if not better from some other breeders at a fraction of what Bill charges.

I agree with Uber and Janny, I know of a dog locally here in Montana, from Bill Fleisherheim, I feel the guy paid way too much for what he got...a friendly, show line, somewhat timid, dog with no titles or showing experience at 1 yr old.
He is a beautiful dog, if you just wanted a nice family pet, he would be great...He is for sale, pm me if you are interested, I will put you in touch with him. The dog is now 2 1/2 yrs old.

The one thing I can tell you about Bill, is at least he will tell you the truth! I have gotten dogs from him and another well known breeder, prices about the same, one tells all kinds of lies the other don't.

Absolutely no 8 week old puppy should ever be worth more than $2500 in my opinion, and that is REALLY pushing it and better come with one hell of a guarantee.

I bet you spend less and get more if you find a breeder who trains and titles all their own dogs.

How about a 1 yr old dog with NOTHING done to it for $3500??? Just looks pretty???

I think if you have $3500 burning a hole in your pocket and you want a GSD, get a nice $1500 pup and donate the extra two grand to GSD rescue.

I say its like every thing else you pay for experience of bill he has had winers for a long time no one can argue that and you can get a good dog from him i know its hard to pay that kind of money but sometimes you do get what you pay for i have a 15 month old female out of his lines i did not get her from him and i paid less than he charges and i fell like i got a great dog that has the whole package everything i could want looking back now if i knew i would get such a great dog i might have saved my time looking and just fork over the hundreds to Bill and be done

He is a multi Market money manager and he has tremendous overhead...He has been in this for many year but he doesnt have hands on , he markets his dogs and the vendors are all over the USA>..using his name ...Do not know what Resue people say, but one time on here we had a lot of Fleischerheim dogs in Rescues and no response from anyone to own up to retrieve them???????do some research first.

His son also has control , i heard...
