Just a few minutes ago, my completely untrained GSD found a bag of drugs stuffed into a tree trunk while my fiance (cop) was walking him. He smelled it from 20 ft away and headed straight for it. :-P

Weed, illegally obtained prescriptions, not sure what else was there because I'm out of town and my fiance is taking care of him. I'm thinking that he's a pothead.

Thanks! He is a good dog.
Sometimes this board is a wee bit negative for newbies like me, but when things like this happen I feel more secure in the high opinion I have of my dog. Who knows how far I'll get with him, but it sure as hell will be fun to try.
