Kaffirdog

Spotted in Scotland apparently.  I think it moves more like a dog and carries its tail like a dog, though it is long in back and tail like a cat.

Thought some of you guys in US might have an idea as you have native big cats.

It looks like a big black cat to me . Probably a private collectors escapee . People pay big bucks for them .Black Panther I would guess . I think they are the most collectible as the have a fairly good temperament ( social ) are not as big as the big cats,,Tigers and lions .

Definitely a cougar-type species of cat. They use those tails to help steer them in the air when they make large jumps.

The cat in the video looks like a melanistic jaguar, which have spots like regular jaguars but with such a dark layer of color over it, the entire cat looks solid black from a distance. They are a medium-sized cat with a long tail.

Would be weird if they were found to be Native, kinda like the Florida Panther that was once thought extinct.

Someone released an exotic pet perhaps, it happens here.
Could be any one of a number of species that people own and raise, cats can survive just fine until the clash with humans.
Its not a dog, and it is bigger than any domestic breed of cat I know of.
Strange place for anything wild to be inhabiting.

Panthers can adapt to many environmental changes, provided there's adequate shelter (a tree or ledge) and food (chickens, dogs and cats? ). Anyone in the area reported their pets as missing?

I'll bet it was being kept at either a zoo or private exhibit/collection. Someone probably left the latch loose or the cat found a loose board or piece of fence and slipped out.

I agree with the released exotic pet theory.

Although I did like the photo of PC Swallow with his nice big German Shepherd police dog!
