i am taking my 9 week pup to the vet today and just wondering if i am being too paranoid.
do i carry him the whole time?is he still to young and un immunized to walk on the floor at the vet?
i dont want him to be uncomfortable at the vet like my last boy was,but i dont want parvo or anything else either.
i think i should carry him but dont know if i am just paranoid.
thanks in advance

No do not put your puppy on the floor. Make sure the tech. has disinfected the exam table, and anyone that will be touching your pup at the vet has washed their hands. Don't be shy to ask if this has been done.
Always,
Cee

I have news for you...The floor is probably cleaner than the air in the vets office.....A lot of the diseases are AIRBORNE .
I do not take a pup inside the vets office....my vet comes out to my truck....He knows the rules....I dont allow anyone on my property with a spray down of ODO Ban and Mahon does same... we do not take chances. no vehicles drive into my place either...stay outside.....
I spray bottom of shoes upon return home also....

i really didnt want to go to a new vet and act like i was doubting his cleanliness,or
his ability to properly dissinfect without my prompting him.
it went great and i think i might take him like you said.
the problem was i didnt know should i even put him on the scale,i guess i am just paranoid.
yellowrose thanks for your response
i have one question,
what does the vet do at the truck that you cant do at home.
if just regular vaccinations why take them if they dont even go inside.
there are probably plenty of things that i cant think of , just trying to understand your routine.
thanks for the responses.
btw i think he might be an alcoholic.

NO I do not need a vet for anything else..... I worm, give shots, give preventative Albon , and give all bathes, skin bathe oils, and clean ears and cut toenails before you get a puppy and he starts his prelim of sitz and tracking and over the logs.....now I have not trained these pups to WATCH OUT FOR COPPERHEADS........
MY VETS ARE WONDERFUL , BUT I VALUE THEIR EXPERTISE AND IF I WOULD NEED TO GO , THEY COME TO THE TRUCK TO SEE MY KIDS..
My vet also warns me as to not bring my pups or my females into the office if he has had several Parvo, Distemper dogs in at any time previous....I have a kennel...most of you do not...It makes a world of difference what one bad germ would do to me or my dogs if I carried it home/......I have never ever had any disease in my kennels or in any dog ....so I value all of my vets , and they know why I am so picky...I intend staying that way,,,,even when I hang up the gavel.......lol..

Looks like Spots ears, Blackie has more of a spread out set.
Keep his beer intake to no more than one tall boy a day till he's nearer a year.
Then you may have to find locks for the fridge door.
He's looking good.
