My 5 yr old male has Lyme Disease which appears to be in remission for now, but his joints are still bothering him.  The vet recommended #1 that he lose weight ( she said that would make the biggest difference), #2 joint supplements with glucosomine and condrodine, and #3 Omega-3 or fish oil. I've been giving him ARK Natural joint resue which seem to be helping. but they are kind of pricey. A 90 count bottle is around $30. Due to his size he needs 2-3 tablets a day which means I'm buying a bottle every month. Can anyone recommend a more affordable alternative? As for the weight issue, Trigger has gone from a high of 122 lbs to 112 lbs at his last visit. 10 more lbs to go as the vet says he should be right around 100 lbs.

I second the smartpack products.  You should check them out.  They have several different formulas.

I use Syn-Flex, sounds similar to smartpack. I buy three bottles at a time for about $75 in total from D&H Enterprises. I get the beef flavored one for dogs, with 1500 mg glucosimine per 1/4 teaspoon (they make products for people as well). That price includes fast shipping, and some very good treats. One bottle lasts about a month for my 96 pound boy. Without the stuff, he is pitiful, with it, he chases squirrels and balls. We also used SyoviG3 for a month or so, but he decided he did not care for the taste, and it took longer to work, I think the liquid formulation of Syn-Flex may be better.

Is any one using a product called flexicose ? I,m currently thinking about useing it on my dogs?

Bob,

I've been using Flexicose for almost a year now and I'm thinking about switching to something else as I really don't think it's working.  I've tried the Ark Naturals and that seems to get much better results but it is pricey as already mentioned.

Thanks for the recommendations. I think I will try one of the powders. Should only cost about half as much as I'm spending now and might even work better. I'd love to see my boy chasing his ball again--used to be what he lived for.

I don't go with out these products, extremely affordable, and the ingredients are guaranteed.   The company makes sure of the integrity of ingredients and the bioavailability to the dogs.

A 3 months supply roughly cost $20-$25
