Heidelberg's Rocky V Rosie
Neandra Schutzengel
No Information
These are in the same pedigree and can be found on the database. A bitch with this in her pedigree was sold to a friend of mine as being full DDR Lines. I do know that some Heidelberg lines are American showlines. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I was wondering if Rocky go back to German lines? But since no information can be found on mom's side I was wondering what was really there.. I even did google search and can't find anything. It just doesn't seem right... I think I smell a rat... Maybe i'm wrong, but can anyone help me? I was interested in getting this bitch, but not with this pedigree with so much doubt in it....However she is an very nice bitch....But I don't think I want those particular showlines...

When you are researching and hit a stone wall, try portions of names and see if you can work backwards.
Schutzengel brings up the kennel website. http://www.sottoshepherds.com/pb/wp_862013d4/wp_862013d4.html I would contact them for info on the pedigrees and dogs. I do not know the dogs they have in the past but their current dogs have very mixed pedigrees to say the least. American, german show and working, a tiny bit of Czech , a fair amount of what looks like backyard nondescript breeding and not a whole lot of titles to be seen and certainly not full DDR and not what I personally would call strong working pedigrees. Only one of their current dogs has a title and that is a CD. There is another Schutzengel kennel ut it is in Argentina and breeds hi-lines. Also at least three others see here for phone numbers www.breederbase.com/German%20Shepherd.htm and http://www.1000petstores.com/Dogs/German_Shepherd_Dog/german_shepherd_dog.html
Also OFA's db often has dogs listed no place else. In this case there are 101 dogs with Schutzengel as part of their name, but no Othello or NeanDra however there is a NeanAra DOB 08/11/1996 hips only ( and yes other dogs from those years have both hips and elbows). The page is http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=705208#animal Click on vertical pedigree and you will get the parents and two of the grandparents. This bitch shows one offspring Lowen's Desert Gator born in 1998 but he shows no progeny IN the OFA db ( records are sparse and inconsistent and not always linked). So he may have progeny that just don't show him as sire thus no link. There are several Q Antverpa bitches listed including Qutea and Quluca but couldn't find Quelua until I searched just the first name. They spelled the kennel name wrong on the OFA papers ( Antwerpa). Her page is http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=513603#animal DOB08/27/1992. Rocky is also in OFA http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=457040#animal but only shows progeny bearing the Heidelberg name ( but as noted above this is an incomplete db). I also did not check his progeny to see if they had other than Heidelberg progeny ( thinking the pedigree might be off by a generation). His vertical pedigree has info for you.
I also keep bookmarked a number of different sites besides this one that have pedigrees. It's a good way to check for inaccuracies in a pedigree as well as finding missing dogs. One of my favorite it the Dutch KC db called Darwin. http://www.duitseherder.nl/index.php?option=com_darwin If this link does not come up go to www.vdh.nl and click on darwin. You used to be able to ge short pedigrees but it looks like they redesined the site ( sigh) and took that away but you can click on a dog's name and get sire and dam and work your way back that way. Antverpa I believe is a Belgian kennel ( right on the border) but often you will find Belgian and German dogs in this db as well as Dutch dogs. Usually they were owned by someone in Holland. I searched Antverpa and came up with quite a few Q dogs but no Quelua. BTW note that in some countries instead of alphabatizing litters for name the letter designates the year born. In this case all 1992 Antverpa litte

In this case all 1992 Antverpa litters were Q litters. The famed Q litter Antverpa out of Orry was born on 10/20 ( Querry). If the dob for Quelua in ofa is correct (08/27) the Darwin db shows a probable littermate Quick . Sire is Zorro v Laager Wall http://www.eastgermanshepherd.com/zorrolw.html and dam is Gibsy von der alten Wassermühle . Yes this is an East German pedigree. Chip of Cimmerian GSds used Quluca and I believe he bred DDR dogs. If not for finding Quelua w/ a mispelled last name in the OFA db I might be asking if it could be a misprint and was the real name Quluca instead
I found this ad which mentions Quelua and also lines to Tina Trappenberg http://www.eastgermanshepherd.com/trina.html who in the OFA db happens to have produced Schutzengel progeny back in the early 90s http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=426939#animal . You might try contacting this person also about the pedigrees you have and/or are trying to piece together. http://www.wellbredpets.com/superpuppy-8371-vom-Ostschutz.html he seems to have number of ads out. http://eastgermanshepherdsddr.web.officelive.com/default.aspx
May I ask why your friend bought a dog without verifying the pedigree and did they even know what DDR meant?
