What would that tell you? nail polish?
I think your theory is short sighted, weak and without merit.
You would judge someone by their shoes?
How about tattoos, jewelry, shaved or bearded, bra or no bra?
LOL....

If we are talking about the person in the Allen House of German Shepherds...the theory may have merit..LOL
But I think you have to take more into account than what the handler is wearing, or what his or her shoes look like. The background isn't even really that important, because the pic may not have been taken in his own home or yard...I'd rather see the dog.
There are a good many hardworking dog breeders/trainers here on this site who spend all their free time and money on giving their dogs the very best of everything, and you couldn't fairly judge anything by the looks of the handler in a photo...Shoes don't really matter.
What does matter is what does the dog tell you? Does he look happy, healthy, structurally sound? Are his ears pinned back from the stress or fear of his situation? That tells me way more than the apparel. After all, just because some might be heavy and have worn out shoes, doesn't mean they don't work their dogs or love their dogs...After all, what's the best way to wear out shoes??? Walking a track, in all sorts of weather...Training dogs, too!
No offense intended, Wise Guy.
Myself, if I was handling my dog and wanted a photo taken, I'd probably take care to look my best when the photo was taken, but that's because to my mind, I don't take a very good picture, and I'd rather not have my appearance detracting from the appearance of my dog. But that's my feeling on the issue, and I surely don't train in Schutzhund or some of these other disciplines, although I do intend to do some tracking with Oakley, my blind rescue GSD.

Still though only an illusion of reality.
I love candid pictures, and the questions they can pose.
The answers are in the eye of the beholder though and we each see what we want to see.
There's more to life than a pair of shoes.
I didn't know we were talking about Allen House of German Shepherds.
Forgive me.................................................................:)
It has been a slow day for sure.

I found this thread while searching something else on google, so I decided to link to it and read it...
... Afterwhich had me checking out my shoes. LoL.
Let's see: slightly beat-up pair of tennis shoes that I periodically oil and buff to keep them looking new-ish. My other shoes are a pair of dress shoes for work, and standard issue military boots. I wear either the boots or the shoes in any pic I take of me stacking my dogs. It made me laugh when I looked at the pics: neat dogs, rather worn footwear. Better than the other way around, I'd warrent

I agree with Wise Guy. When someone is advertising puppies/dogs for Sale, and the person is in the picture, they should make an effort to look presentable....you know "Putting Your Best Foot Forward" -- I, too, look at the shoes/clothing of people in the advertisements.

That would be really snazzy.

The dogs would laugh their asses off!
All in all. Shoes don't really matter ( unless your on a 1st date) other than that I wear sneakers and boots. I have dogs!
I do agree when trying to sell something, you should try and make it appealing and if the seller looks like a slob then it does reflect.
