The vet told Aunt Judy that he could see only 3 puppies in her grand champion dalmation.

I count at least 10 and one very happy mamma dog.

One of the best dogs we had was a dal. I miss him so much! He was a real trouble until he turned 2, then it was like a light switch went on, Oh you do not want me to dig up your plants, eat the seat belts in the RV, tear up Barbie dolls and my little  ponies, Steal the steak right off the table.I  got an award with him, the most difficult dog to train and lots of blisters.

she looks like as very proud  mother, your vet needs to learn to  count.

When and how do their spots start to show up?

Very cute pic and she is so happy and proud looking:)

I have no idea when their spots start to show. One has a black ear other then that they are all white with pink noses......

Aunt Judy drove from Texas to Michagan for the breeding...........Glad there were more then just 3.

Beautiful, they must be like yellow labs when they are born, the yellow labs have pink noses & feet and then at about a week or so they start turning black, also when a chocolate pup comes out his nose is light, you can tell right away that he's not a black dog, chocolate labs are solid chocolate, no black on their bodies anywhere.

I once had a yellow lab pup that had a black spot behind her ear, we nicknamed her "Dottie"

Boy, I'll bet Aunt Judy still had to pay the vet for that piece of information.

They just found out that her bitch, who was shown only 12 times last year is ranked in the top 50 in conformation. Judy is psyc-ed!

All is well, all puppies are doing well, and mama is tending her pack very nicely.

I just love good news.

Looks like 10 to me, Sitasmom...

I'm always amazed when people tell me how much vets know when it comes to anything animal related.  I hear "Well, he's dealt with hundreds of pregnant females, and he knows all about it..."

My stepson's Malamute just gave birth to a litter of pups...Vet said probably not a big litter.  Well, to my estimation, nine isn't a small one!

Dal's spots usually start showing up around 10-14 days.

AKC doesn't have any "grand" champion titles, btw.  Oh, wait, maybe you meant it like, what a grand dog!

by SitasMom on 22 July 2009 - 20:07

she made the list of 50 best in conformation........what ever title that is is what she earned.......last week she look more like a beached whale.......they knick named her tripple wide.

i wouldn't know much about AKC, its only a registering requirement to me, that's all

LOL!  I just showed this thread to a friend whose Shiloh Shepherd bitch is due to whelp in 2 weeks. Vet said she's carry 4 pups.

Now my friend is worried...
