I used this product last year and had no problems. This year, I have two dogs out of 17 that are having a problems. I thought they were unrelated to the Vectra until I talked with a GSHP guy that we know. He has had to take one of his males to a dermatological specialist and after multiple biopsies, the dx is Phemphigus secondary to allergic reaction to Vectra. Dareya and Ember are both having some problems that I believe are related to this. Ember is getting really thinning hair and red, irritated looking skin on her anal area and down her rear legs; Dareya has developed several raised, red, weepy spots on her shoulders, down the side of her chest and also the thinning hair coat. For Ember I have given some medicated baths with a comfrey and goldenseal based shampoo that seems to have helped a great deal along with oral Benadryl, and Dareya has had the baths along with antibiotics and Benadryl. No one else seems to have had a problem. Anyone else experiencing anything like this using Vectra?

P.S. I just had my german boy flare up with a nasty hot spot after applying Frontline plus, so who's to say? Each are definitely individual with individual problems and sensitivities.

I have had problems with vectra also. Athena was using it and she started scratching like crazy. I took her to the vet and they gave me missing link to help with the scratching. She did not have any red bumps or anything like that she just scratched her back and the front of her back legs. One of the biggest problems I had was that it didn't work. Less than 2 weeks after using it she had a crazy amount of fleas and ticks which were attached and full of blood. I tried it for 3 months with the same result. I called the company and after getting the runaround I finally got them to refund my money. I can't put anything different on her yet but the itching is getting better. If you google vectra you will see that they have VERY BAD reviews. I am now looking for something else. I was told to try advantix. I am still looking at all of them to see what is best.
