I bought 3 small bags of frozen green tripe from the butcher.  Defrosted and fed it outside of course.  I don't know how much it was cause I also bought a bunch of bones and lost the sales slip.

What are people paying for green tripe?  Is it by the pound or by the piece?  Also, I just gave the entire thing to each dog and they ripped it apart and ate one each.  Does anyone cut it up?  Frankly the smell is so bad I didn't want to handle it at all, LOL!

The dogs love it, but watch out their breath will kill Super Man!

Gren tripe should be around $2.50- $2.89 a pound. I always buy ground up tripe, it's easier.  I choose the the green tripe only not the (cleaned) tripe from the butcher. Green has all the enzymes you dog needs more so than the cleaned.  Miller Foods in Avon Ct. sells 5 pound frozen logs for $13.00. You can google them. You will have to pay shipping depending where you live. A company called Bravo sells frozen 2 pound plastic container( it's a little neater to handle) for $6.95. Google them also.  A company called tripett sells in a can, easy to handle and store, it  sells for $2.00 a can, online also. Very good product ! Do you homework get the best price for you and a butcher too you can trust. The more you spend from anyone the price will drop. IMO

Goodluck.

P.S. I posted in regards to green tripe a few weeks ago to get others feeling on feedings. Go back and read the other replys. Tripe should be used as a supplement although I have heard in germany they they feed straight quite often. JMO

Thanks!  I gave my female the Tripett and she loved it - but I liked the idea of raw.  Just wasn't sure how much I should be paying for it.  The last batch was raw, but it was also organic and free of any hormones, from some very expensive slaughtered steers.

I used to have a local slaughterhouse - family run business, and a local organic cattle farm nearby.  I used to purchase a cow every two years, bring it to the slaughterhouse, and they'd slaughter it for me and freeze it - but, as with so many other things, divorce and market conditions has forced the sale of both farm and slaughterhouse.  Bah.
