Hi, So water broke and major contractions started at 7am. She has had about 4 very strong ones and she seemed to be pushing, but no pup yet. She had a litter last year and I don't remember it taking so long with the first one. Thoughts, experiences, suggestions? When to be concerned? Thanks, Theresa PS: it's 7:40 right now

As long as she is resting inbetween pushing she's ok, if she was to be straining and consistently pushing then that would
mean go to the vets.

My girl pushed off & on for about 2 hours before the first one came out and she had already had a litter, her pups were big (1 1/2  pounds)  Just keep her comfortable, keep the vets # handy, just don't let her go more than 2 hours before seeing the first pup.............Also take her outside and walk around in the yard keeping a close eye on what comes out, that always speeds things up

Just got back from vet. Two big healthy girls, one tiny girl not doing so well, and one in the oven. We needed some oxytocin.

Wow!  Good thing you took her in.  Hope the little one recovers and does ok.  Keep us updated and post some pictures once you have recovered.

That's great news, keep them warm, and if the tiny girl can nurse, put her on a nipple...

Did they send you home with a shot, that stuff comes in handy

If not then, walk ---walk---walk--even play ball if she will, keep moving....

Thank you all so much for the advice, kindness and positive thoughts. I was a wreck last night but Georgi was awesome. She is a super mom. We are home after another trip to the ER last night. The last one got stuck, and didn't make it. A huge boy. Georgi and the two big girls are doing really well, the little girl is still hanging In there, but needs constant attention. I am camped out on the floor net to the box, where I will remain for the next several days. I have to encourage her to nurse every time, and keep moving her to the warth of mom and the other girls. They are maintaining a good body temp with the heat lamp, but she is not. If I was not doing this I am sure she would be gone already. It really makes me wonder about survival of the fittest and nature's way of maintaining strong species. I cannot just let her fade off, I just don't have the stomach or heart for it. This has been such an emotional rollercoaster, it makes me respect even more, the many of you on here, (you know who you are, I don't want to name names and leave out someone accidentally), who really breed to improve the breed and do all that you can. This is very hard work for sure, but can be just heartwrenching. Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it, and my sweet girl Georgi will now be my lil coach potato. Theresa

Ohhhhh, sorry to hear about the 2nd trip to the ER and loss of the boy.  These things happen.  Hopefully the little girl will do ok in a few days.  Hang in there.  We are pulling for you and her.
