I am thinking of giving my GSDs' home made dog food - even though it is a hassle and more expensive than the Kirklands brand from Costco that I am feeding today. I would really like some advice as to whether the recipe shown below would provide the nutrients that they would need. This recipe is ostensibly for German Shepherds:
Ingredients:
2.5 kilograms of beef (grounded)
1.25 kilograms of chicken (grounded)
1.25 kilograms of turkey (grounded)
2.5 kilograms of baby carrots
2 baking potatoes
3 cups of brown rice
3 pieces of eggs
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
First, mix beef, chicken and turkey together. Place it in the oven.
Then, mix rice chicken broth and water. Cook for 30 minutes in medium heat.
Beat the eggs slightly. Never overdo it. Then, add potatoes and carrots. Cook for another 20 to 30 minutes.
After everything is done, place it in a container and finally in the freezer.
