I've asked before about hip and elbow x rays, but I'm curious, what is the cost of an x ray at your guys vets when seeing how many puppies they are having?

I think my last visit for this was $90. view #1, and $45 view #2 in 2008. Also, have him/her point out their findings to you on the film. I had a realitively new tech fresh out of Vet school who read our bitch perfectly. Good luck......oh also, that is Los Angeles County, Ca. price. I also quoted another Vet that was $125. view #1 and $60. #2 Use the phone, and check around, wherever you are located. Good luck!

My vet has a new digital machine and she is charging $45 while they get the feel of the machine.. regular price $78, I think

The only time I got x-rays on a pregnant bitch is in 2003 when she needed help by the emergency vets office, other than that I always weigh them if they are obviously looking big and prego, and estimate approx. 1 pound per pup, and then some, I don't like exposing dogs to x-rays if everything is going smoothly.........

And after the bitch whelps her pups, if you think there's one left inside, then give her a shot to help the last one out,
after reading different posts about x-raying to see how many pups, it never seems like they know for sure, there still always seems like one or two were hiding in there

To expose a bitch and pups to X-rays, plus the expense, just to count pups is a foolish thing to do in my opinion.

I agree with Moons, Unless there is a possible medical condition that requires it.

Just had a view this am, $100. I hope you are right about the weight being an indicator mirasmom. Today is day 56, she has gained 13lbs, from 65 to 78, and the vet said 4 maybe 5 very large pups...I truly hope that is not the case. Theresa
