My 5 month old female GSD has been walking strangely for the last couple of days. Looks like maybe her back legs are sore or something. Seems to get worse after heavy play. Is that "pano"? should I take her to a vet? or is this normal when they are growing?

Take her to the vet, could be panno, could be HD, could be something else...........

is she still on puppy food?

She's on an "All Life Stages" food.

I had the same issue with my GSD when she was the same age. She walked funny, she also yelped a lot during physical exercise (even sometimes when squating to potty). I took her to 2 different Vets, had x rays and everything. Both Vets told me there was nothing wrong with her. They advised she will "grow into" her legs and the pain and yelping is due to "growing pains." She is now almost a year and she is completely healthy, normal and beautiful.

Thats good to know. I was kind of thinking that's what it was... It just bothers me seeing her limping/hurting.

"Pinnacle" and here is the website: www.breeders-choice.com/dog_products/pinnacle_dog_orig.htm

What do you think about them?

Just because 'savedbygrace878' had that experience it doesn't follow that this is going to be the same problem with your pup.

As you say "it bothers you to see her limping/hurting" then I think that you should taken her to the vet.  Maybe restrict her exercise/play for 24hrs and see if it improves but if it has gone on for a few days now then I would be heading to the vet.

My opinion only

Get her off that food. NONE of the pupps has Pano. Too rich for her.
Do not correct my English people.. I am trying to do my best.. or I will be forced to write in Slovakian and that grammar is even harder!! ;o))
