Xena and I competed in the British Police & Services Canine Association's Service Dog of year 2009 trial last Saturday (4th July).

We didn't manage to get into the final rankings, but we did managed to win a trophy;

We came 1st place with a score of 99 out of 100 points in the agility element of the trial.

There were trophies for many people from my club:

John Davidson and Dennis - 1st Place in the obedience 98 out of 100 points
Damian O'Donnell and Clive - 1st Place i the manwork/protection
Colin Huskins and Chuck - 1st Place in the property/search square

It was a great day at a super location.  The crowd numbers were up, perhaps because of the nice weather and it was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends.  Many people from various UK working dog forums were there and it was a great chance to put faces to usernames.

I'd like to publically thank the 'team behind the team'.  Those people who have helped me with Xena over the last couple of years.  Without whom, we wouldn't be nearly half as good.  Namely;  Damian O'Donnell, Colin Huskins, Ron Stanley, John Davidson, Ian Walshaw and Kev Roper.

Xena was one of the youngest dogs there, at 2 years and 3 months old, yet she did me proud.  A great ambassador for the German Shepherd Dog.

Here's some pictures from the day of Xena's performance.
