Hi, I'm hoping to get some sound advice from anyone whom can help.  I have a friend in the Carribean whom has asked me to recieve a dog she's interested  in purchasing from Germany. The person(s) selling the dog are from Hungary, and supposedly now live in Frankfurt Germany. There is a major communication problem, as the seller barely speaks German and the buyer knows no Hungarian.  The sellers name is Szivos Gyula and his posting was done on July 3rd  titled pregnant female for sale.
As far as I'm concerned, there is alot of money that is being sent over, close to $5000 including shipping. To me, no way I'd ever do that.  Secondly, because of the lack of communication, how do the 2 parties interact concerning the conditions of travel from 1 country to the other?  Finally, is there a way to make this transaction, to where both parties are covered over a total loss?  My friend works too hard for her money, so if anyone can offer anything at all in what to do or not to do, please respond. Thanks Much....

Ideally, they should find a third party to translate.

Be VERY VERY wary of buying any dog sight unseen. Make sure they get veterinary confirmation of pregnancy and a copy of the stud certificate. Also ask for references.

gsluvver,

Does your friend communicate with the seller by email?  If so, tell her to use Google to translate the conversation.  She can type a message on Google, translate it, copy and paste it to her email and when she receives a reply she just does the reverse.  Copy and paste his message to Google and have it translated to her language.  This will help with the language barrier.  Tell your friend to do her research on here, check out the kennel and seek references before she hands over any money.  I hope it all goes well for her.

Your friend should stop this whole deal before she gets hurt one way or the outher that is a disaster waiting to hapen tell her to look in the USA there is no need to go over seas she can get the same or better dogs here and there will be no excuses about a language barrier when something goes wrong and there is a good chance it will i have seen it to many times there is no reason to chance it that is alot of money to someone who has to work for a liveing

I would not do such a transaction.
Deal with someone who you can communicate with and someone who has a long standing reputation.
And don't over pay.
These people have nothing that you couldn't find somewhere else with less complications.

Moons.

This sounds like a gamble.  If your friend can afford to take a chance....it's up to her.  I does seem quite risky.

Stay away from the deal. Look elsewhere.

Brains are a dime a dozen.. If you don't use them they are worthless.. get the drift. No way I would fall for that advertisement...No one here has said they know this person..??????????

I wouldn't deal with them..  I have friends on this database who traveled to Germany , threw down 20,000.00 dollars and got screwed upside down. , with a supposidly pregnant bitch....and she had tests done, etc.....things are not as they seem and when you are here in America and Germany is there...NOT A GOOD IDEA>>>WHY DOESN"T SHE BUY A DOG HERE IN THE USA>>>>WHY GET ROOKED IN GERMAANY>>>ASK  MAHON  what happens , if you don't know who the other party selling dogs are. and even then....KOOL AID GETS DRUNK>>CHEAP>>>>
