Going to get my dogs anal glands removed would you go to a Specialist or my General Vet??

I would go to a specialist. Jack has his anal sacs removed when he developed AF by my regular Vet. Later, when I decided to have one last go (he had had several goes with Cryosurgery) at a soft tissue cut (successful) the specialist found quite a lot of the anal sacs left and they were infected and doing the AF and Jack no good atall.
