My husband and I just took in one of our customers dog. She is a golden and very nice. She is very overweight, and 3 years old. She is spayed.
The thing I am worried about is that Athena is crazed. She is all over her all the time. Athena is constantly grabbing her front legs and mouthing her all over especially her head. Darci is very patient and justs let Athena Do whatever she wants.She will growl once in a while but that is all. Will this calm down and what the heck is Athena doing???

How old is your dog? Has she been around females before with this behavior? It sounds to me like she is trying to be dom., over this other female. JMO

You need to nip this in the bud, now! The Golden is tolerating this (barely) because she's the new dog in the house and feels unsure. As soon as she is comfortable with her surroundings, you are going to have the bitch fight from he**!

We took both dogs for a walk and Athena who is 5 months old would herd Darci. She would walk pushing into darci and would not let Darci get in front of her. She then would grab Darci's ear and walk with her holding her ear in her mouth. Athena also started grabbing Darci's front legs to make her lay down then she lays down next to her and mouths Darci's head. Darci is starting to mouth back some. No serious confrontations yet but I am watching. I think Athena sees she is so overweight and justs needs to get some of that fat off of her so she is pulling her around (j/k)
