Why do you breed?
What quality in your dogs do you look for before breeding?
Do you breed for profit?
What happens to your pups if they dont sale?
Are you concerned with any of pups being abandoned?
How do you place your pups in a home?
what do you do if a pup is born with defects?
And anything else that you may like to add. Please include a name so that I may use quotes if appropriate.
And if you have anything to say about puppy mills and why you think they should be shut down please comment on that too.
Or... if your all for Petland then please explain why.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to add your comments.

Petland is one of the abominations of the dog world,,Hope it goes bankrupt soon and disappears. These are the places the government wants in control of dog sales..they want to take it out of the hands of small breeders and control a company to tax to death...this man that owns Petland needs to be put on a bull in the Rodeo arena and the clowns go home.
do not feel like answering questions, let the rest of the breeders here do it.

I absolutely hate Petland and all they stand for. I have seen terrible conditions with puppies lying in feces, their coats matted with it. I have seen poor examples of purebred shelties, sable merles so washed out in color and thin to the point of looking anemic. And the "designer" dogs they foist off on people for a ridiculous sum is pure insanity. The shelters are full of "designer" dogs begging for a good home.
Yet people are so enamored by cute little puppies they are willing to pay huge amounts of money because more money equals a better dog, right? I really have to bite my tongue when someone I meet brags about the pup they picked up at Petland and how much they had to borrow from the bank to pay for it. I just want to scream at them and tell them how stupid they were. I want to point out the obvious flaws in their beloved pet. I want to take them to a puppy mill and show them where that expensive disease ridden thing came from. But by then it's too late. They are in love. They would just write me off a some nut case and find some other idiot who thinks the mutt they came home with is adorable. Most of them will end up giving the thing away or to a shelter before long because there is no breeder to contact about behavior issues. No one to help them understand exactly what it is they have purchased. Their pride will override the urge to be rid of it for only so long. Sooner or later, the vet bills or some other issue will cause them to quietly get rid of it. They don't want their friends to know they spent all that money just to throw it away.
Petland thrives on the ignorance of decent people. They take advantage of all those seeking the unconditional love that only a pet can provide. They foster the belief they are selling purebred, quality animals. The truth is no reputable breeder will sell to them. There is no way on God's green earth someone is going to purchase a quality animal from this cesspool. Puppy mills are a boil on the backside of the dog (and cat) world. Businesses like Petland are the scab on that boil. They should be shut down or at the very least lose the right to traffic in animals.
Thank you for this oportunity to speak my mind.

The Petland chain, along with The Hunte Corp., one of the largest distributors of puppies in the U.S., responded to the lawsuit filed in federal court, asking a judge to dismiss the charges.
Howard Hunt joined Schutzhund USA and didnt last very long...long story.....they found out who he was....can not rember what went down..but I think he tried sueing USA over termination of his dues or his membership..
.Maybe someone relay all that correctly.

I hope I am at least partly responsible for Petland pulling out of Oklahoma City. I walked in there one day to find two pitiful-looking Rainbow Lorikeets in a cage with a huge bin of sunflower seeds and an even huger bin of GRIT! These are fruit and nectar feeding birds - they don't even possess a gizzard to PUT grit IN!!! I flew off the handle and made a scene in the mall. I contacted the news media and they did a small story on them. Wasn't but a few weeks later and they were OUT! YAY!!!
tried to find something on the OKC petland but that was a long time ago
